This notice is provided on behalf of the Coves Water Supply Corporation (“Corporation”). The Board of Directors (“Board”) of the Corporation seeks to amend the By-laws of The Coves Water Supply Corporation last amended and adopted on February 3, 2018 (“By-laws”). Upon careful review of the By-laws, the Board determined that the by-laws require an amendment to be consistent with state law and to facilitate more efficient operations of the Corporation. The current CWSC water rates and tariff were established in 2014. Over the last eight years, the CPI and PPI inflation indexes increased 27% while the CWSC water rates remained unchanged. Since early 2021, operating cost of equipment, supplies, administration, and government regulatory compliance have increased significantly. The Texas Public Utility Commission requires nonprofit utilities to generate earnings to cover the costs of operations and infrastructure improvements.
